| Day 4 Mon. | Depart Perth
and travel along the Great Eastern Highway to the historic town
of York, Western
Australia's oldest and most historic inland settlement with many fine
old
buildings. Continue via Quairading through the wheat belt country
to Hyden.

| Day 5 Tue. | During the
morning visit Wave Rock, one of nature's great wonders. Also see Gnamma
Hole and Bates Cave, on the walls of which are handprints in the
stone, said to be those of
Mulka the Terrible, who according to legend terrorised the local Aborigines,
killing and eating them, one of his victims being his own mother.
Depart for Kalgoorlie late morning. Kalgoorlie is the historic
centre of Western Australia's gold mining industry. Stop en route at the
Coolgardie Museum. Tour the town centre including the Two-Up
Gambling School, Aboriginal Art Centre and the imposing gold rush architecture
in Hannan Street. Overnight Kalgoorlie. Hotel: To be advised. |

| Day 6 Wed. | Visit Hannans
North Tourism Gold Mine, view current open cut mining practices at
the Super Pit and then depart for Esperance, a pleasant town on
the South coast. The journey,
which takes about 4 hours, travels through salt lakes and natural bushland
country. Esperance is wonderfully situated on a sheltered bay with excellent
beaches and over 100 islands in the offshore archipelago. Overnight Esperance.

| Day 7 Thu. | Enjoy a morning
cruise to Woody Island spotting seals and other marine life before departing
for Albany via the Great Ocean Road Drive with its breathtaking beaches and
coastline. Ensure you include a visit to Pink Lane on the way.

| Day 8 Fri. | Drive to Alexandra Bridge in time for the river ferry "Jewel Cave". Stay overnight in picturesque vineyard country at Margaret River. | |

Continue north via Canal rocks along the coastline to Busselton and Bunbury, Western Australia's second city, to Perth. Hotel: To be advised. |

Surrender the self-drive car or camper van at the airport. Depart Perth by air. |
