"The Great Ocean Road"
A self-drive holiday from Melbourne to Adelaide
Day 1 Arrive Melbourne 
Take delivery of a self- drive car on arrival.   
Hotel:  TOORAK MANOR

Day 2 and  Day 3

In Melbourne.
Day 4 Depart Melbourne and travel along the western highway to Ballarat. Visit the Great Southern Woolshed, the city's newest attraction and largest working shearing shed in Australia. Arrive at Sovereign Hill and the Gold Museum. Pan for gold, take a mine tour and ride the old stagecoach. Lunch at Sovereign Hill. Visit Ballarat Wildlife Park to see the outstanding reptile display and watch the feeding of crocodiles. In the evening you might like to enjoy dinner and the show at the "Blood on the Southern Cross" sound and light spectacular ,or dinner at any one of Ballarat's many fine restaurants or cafes. Perhaps a live performance (seasonal) at Ballarat's one hundred and twenty one years old "Her Majesty's Theatre".

Day 5 Depart Ballarat for Colac and Lavers Hill on the Great Ocean Road. Set in the forest, you can enjoy lunch and take in the breathtaking panoramic views from the ranges to the coast. Depart Lavers Hill for the Shipwreck Coast, an area of immense beauty, ravaged by the sea. Discover the 'world famous' Twelve Apostles and London Bridge. Visit the Loch Ard Shipwreck Museum before proceeding on to the historic town of Port Fairy.   
Hotel:  SEACOMBE HOUSE MOTOR INN
Day 6 Depart Port Fairy and travel along Highway One to Portland. Portland has more than two hundred 19th Century buildings and houses including Edward Henty's bluestone residence at Burswood. A short distance from Portland is Cape Bridgewater, with its wonderful sweeping beaches, spectacular blowholes and 'petrified' forest. Continue to Nelson and the magnificent Lower GleneIg National Park for your picnic lunch. After lunch; it's a magnificent tour up to the Glenelg River or visit the impressive Princess Margaret Rose Caves. Take one of the rnany walks in the National Park. Depart Nelson for Mount Gambier for overnight.   
Hotel:  INTERNATIONAL MOTEL
Day 7 Visit the magnificent 'Blue Lake', a crater lake. Depart Mount Gambier for Adelaide, the City of Churches. Travel through Coorong coastal wetlands featuring over 400 bird species. Turn off at Tailem Bend and take the ferry to the Fleurieu Peninsula and the McLaren Vale wine district before arriving in Adelaide. 
Hotel:  ST FRANCIS WINERY RESORT
Day 8  to Day  11  Touring to Borossa Valley, the Adelaide Hills and perhaps Kangaroo Island.
Day 12 Surrender the self-drive car. 
Depart Adelaide
