Guilin and Yangshou Holiday

The vistas of Guilin and Yangshou have inspired more poets and painters than any other region of China. As a signature representation of the nation, the Yangshou hillscape rivals the Great Wall.

A short flight from Hong Kong lands one in Guilin, the gateway to this supremely attractive region. From Guilin, one embarks on the Li River boat trip, passing through a mesmerising scene made up of hundreds of uniquely shaped limestone hills and crags. Scenes depicted in Chinese painting which you might have previously considered surreal, will be shown to be realities.

Whether riding on pleasure boats, cycling in the countryside, crawling through caves or strolling through the shops and small eateries of the remarkably bohemian town of Yangshou, this region of China will captivate you.

Cycling is Yangshou’s most favoured activity. The relatively flat, sealed roads, lead to superb rustic locations. There are opportunities for walking or enjoying a picnic in scenic splendour. The view from atop Moon Hill is not to be missed. A breathtaking patchwork of rice fields and charming Chinese villages.

Day 1 Monday Depart Hong Kong by air

Arrive Guilin, Met on arrival and transfer to the hotel

Hotel: GUILIN SHERATON

Day 2 Tuesday.

A full day tour of Guilin, including Fubo Hill, Elephant Trunk Rock, Seven Star Crag Park, Folded Brocade Hill and the Reed Flute Cave.

The aptly named ‘Elephant Trunk Hill’ on the Li River.

Day 3 Wednesday. Transfer to the wharf.

Depart Guilin on the Li River cruise.

Arrive Yangshou

Transfer to the hotel, Hotel: PARADISE YANGSHUO RESORT

Day 4 Thursday. Exploring Yangshou on foot or by bicycle under own arrangements. For bicycle hire, we can arrange this prior to departure, so that you can pick up your cycle from the Hotel. In the evening an excursion to see cormorant fishing.

Day 5 Friday. At leisure in Yangshou

Transfer to Guilin Airport

Depart Guilin by air

Arrive Hong Kong
