Day 1

Fri.   Depart Hong Kong 

  Arrive Danang 

Met on arrival and transfer to the resort hotel on famous China Beach.

Hotel:     FURAMA RESORT DANANG

The thirty-kilometer stretch of fine white sand, China Beach, was made

famous as the landing place of the US Army during the Vietnam War. It was publicized in the television series of the same name and was frequently used for rest and recreation (R&R) during the war. The soldiers were transported by helicopter to and from the beach directly from the combat zones.

 

Day 2 

Sat.  At leisure on the beach

 

Day 3 

Sun.  A morning excursion to Hoi An, a former international trading port during the 17th and 18th Centuries. Hoi An is a charming town with an eccentric mix of western and eastern influenced architecture. Take a walking tour on its narrow cobblestone streets, visiting former merchant’s houses, Phuc Kien Pagoda, the 400 years old covered Japanese Bridge and the colourful bazaar.

 

Day 4 

Mon.  A full day excursion to My Son, 50 km. south – west of Danang. This is the site of the most important Cham intellectual and religious centre, dating back to the late 4th Century. My Son is considered to be Champa’s counterpart to the grand cities of South-East Asia’s other Indian influenced civilizations: Angkor (Cambodia), Bagan (Myanmar), Ayuthaya (Thailand) and Borabudur (Java). Picnic lunch is enjoyed on the My Son Tower. On the return journey, visit the Bang An Cham ruins, another Champa octagonal tower dating from the 10th Century. Return to Danang for a barbeque by the swimming pool.

 

Day 5

Tue.  At leisure

 

Day 6

Wed.  An excursion to Hue includes a scenic drive over the Hai Van Cloudy Pass where a spectacular panorama of the central coastline can be enjoyed at the summit. Stop at Lang Co to visit a fishing village located on a line of sand dunes. Continue to Hue to visit this former imperial city, offering an insightful look into its regal past with a visit to the Citadel. Lunch is taken at the home of the writer / historian, Mr. Phan Thuan An. In the afternoon, take a dragon boat upstream to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, Hue’s best preserved religious monument. Return to Danang

 

Day 7 

Thu.  A morning excursion into the City of Danang for some last minute shopping and sightseeing.  The Cham Museum, founded in 1915 by the Ecole Francais d’Extreme Orient, has the finest collection of Cham sculpture in the world. The Danang Cathedral was built for the city’s French residents in 1923.

  Afternoon at leisure.

  Transfer to the airport.

  Depart Danang by air

  Arrive Hong Kong
