EXPLORING TIBET
Day 1 Fri.	Depart Hong Kong by air Arrive Chengdu Transfer to the hotel. Hotel: EVEREST or similar
Day 2 Sat.	After breakfast, transfer to the airport. Depart Chengdu by air Arrive Lhasa Transfer from Gonggar airport to hotel in Lhasa (80 kms - 1.5 hrs drive) Hotel: LHASA GOLD GRAIN (Formerly Holiday Inn) Afternoon free to acclimatise
Day 3 Sun.	After breakfast, visit The Potala Palace, former residence of the Dalai Lamas, the former rulers of Tibet. In the afternoon visit Drepung Monastery, the Metzekhang (University of Tibetan Medicine) and Jokhang Temple at Barkhor, the most sacred temple in Tibet.
Day 4 Mon.	After breakfast, visit Drepung Monastery, the largest in Tibet, and continue on to the Sera Monastery, splendid in green and gold. It was built in 1419 by one of the eight disciples of Tsongkhapa, founder of the Ge-Lug-pa Sect.
Day 5 Tue.	After breakfast, take a day's drive by the southern route to Gyantse via Lake Yamdrok.Cross the Khamba La Pass at 4900 metres, enjoy a picnic lunch at the famous turquoise blue lake, before crossing the Karo La Pass of 5045 metres, reaching Gyantse (3800m.) and driving to the hotel at Xigatse. Hotel: YOUDIAN
Day 6 Wed.	After breakfast, visit Tashi Lumpo Monastery with its beautiful golden roofs and seat of the Panchen Lamas, the second ranking Lama to the Dalai Lama. After lunch take a five hour drive back to Lhasa by the middle road along the Tsangpo or Brahmaputra River, arriving in Lhasa in the evening. Hotel: GOLD GRAIN
Day 7 Thu.	After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport Depart Lhasa by air Arrive Chengdu Depart Chengdu by air Arrive Hong Kong
