Singapore to Bangkok

 

Day 1    Tuesday    

Depart Hong Kong by air

 

 

Arrive Singapore, met on arrival and transfer to the hotel.

             Hotel: ORIENTAL

 

Day 2    Wednesday.    

Transfer to the railway station.

       

 

Your exquisite private compartment with its en-suite shower room is a haven of total relaxation.

    

 

             The train is a celebration of Asian tradition. Its shimmering interiors were produced by master craftsmen, whose ancient skills have been applied to   traditional lacquer-work, silks and bronzes.

               Depart Singapore, (Keppel) by Eastern & Oriental Express  at 1100,      Cross to Malaysia via the causeway over the Straits of Johor.

Leisurely make your way to the Restaurant Car for luncheon, where talented chefs conjure a fragrant cuisine fusing the best of East and West.

 

 Enjoy a relaxed afternoon. At any time, glass in hand, you can stroll to the open Observation Lounge.  Afternoon Tea is served in your compartment.  Arrive Kuala Lumpur    1800.     Depart Kuala Lumpur     1845.

Dress for dinner and a relaxing evening in the Bar Car with its resident pianist.

Day 3       Thursday.       

Breakfast in your compartment before arriving in Butterworth.

Arrive Butterworth   0830. A morning guided excursion to colonial Georgetown, Penang, including an introductory tour of the historic town and Fort Cornwallis, partly by trishaw.

Depart Butterworth  1130.  Lunch on board.

View the changing scenery from the Observation Car as the train crosses into Thailand.      Dinner and overnight on board.

                  

Day 4        Friday.  

 

Arrive Hua Hin   0445.  Deart Hua Hin   0500.  In the morning visit the River Kwai and enjoy an excursion by boat.  Arrive Kwai   0845.  Depart Kwai  1100

Arrive Bangkok (Hualampong)  1445.   Met on arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 5        Saturday. At leisure

 

    

The Royal Palace, Bangkok, a tuk-tuk and Wat Phra Kaew

 

Day 6        Sunday.          

 Late check-out has been arranged.

Transfer to the airport  Depart Bangkok by air.   Arrive Hong Kong
