Canadian Rockies "Self Drive" Holiday
(Vancouver to Calgary, or vice versa, by car or camper van)

Day 1 Take delivery of a self-drive car or camper van in Vancouver and spend overnight in Vancouver.
Day 2 Follow the Trans Canada Highway along the mighty Fraser River and up its broad valley to the Fraser River Canyon with its rocky gorge and spectacular vantage points. Continue along Kamloops Lake for overnight.
Day 3 The country gets higher and wilder as the road continues along the North Thompson River and through the Columbia Mountains. Turn east along the Yellowhead Highway, the route of the "Overlanders of 1862", the fortune seekers who risked their lives to reach the Caribou gold fields. Spectacular views of Mt. Robson (12,972 ft.), the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Enter Alberta Province and arrive at Jasper.
Day 4 In Jasper and its spectacular environs.
Day 5 Continue along the Banff-Jasper Highway, the most awe inspiring and spectacular selection in the National Park. Snow-domed peaks, waterfalls, lakes around every bend, each scene competing with the last for sheer majesty. Wildlife includes moose, deer, big horned sheep and brown bear.
The Athabasca Glacier, part of the massive Columbia Icefield, beckons for a rare Snow-coach ride on the glacier.
Overnight at Lake Louise where the venerable Chateau Lake Louise overlooks the lake and Victoria Glacier.
Day 6 In Banff
Day 7 Continue to Calgary and surrender the self-drive car or camper van.
