Letters from some of our clients, who we now greet as friends :-

Subject  :  Guangzhou Tour

Dear Graham and Ashish!
It was a real success to follow the plan laid out for us. The train ride was less than troublesome (except for the panicky boarding stampede), we were warmly and timely greeted by Nancy who provided us with valuable "positioning information" and a small tour of the old city. The hotel is a gem and we were truly delighted by it's genuine style and high class comfort. In all, a great start.
The following two days were quite an experience and something we could never have experienced on our own. Our guide Beatrice turned out to be not only knowledgeable and courteous but also had a humor and general insight that enriched every corner of the city.
The Cantonese Opera Art Museum was a splendid building and the performance was highly appropriate for us when explained by Beatrice. Most recommended, as were the temples and the street experiences, in particular the "Lucky Valley" (if I remember the name correctly). Lunch and dinner were selected and introduced by Beatrice and gave us a great insight into eating patterns, manners and preferences. The visit to the 2000 year old tomb of Emperor Wen Di was awesome and impressive. All-in-all a great day with a superbly warm and considerate guide.
The second day, in Foshan, had Kung Fu show and Lion dance to start with where we enjoyed the experience as much as the kids enjoyed seeing us ("Look, a foreigner") and we all laughed and exchanged friendly waves. This was followed by a visit to a temple and the impressive meeting with The Ancient Nanfeng Kiln. Another great day was ended with a traffic intense return to the station and a relaxing journey "home".
All-in-all, a professionally designed and executed program with a guide that we will remember fondly. Please forward our sincere thanks to both Nancy and Beatrice, we highly recommend them both and would never have come close to the end result without them.
Thanks also to both of you for handling this odd request (wanting to see "old stuff" and to hear/experience "old music and culture") with patience and creativity. It was certainly worth going there!!
Best regards,
E and E

Thank you for being our guide for a great day visiting Lantau Island.  What a fun day.  You were timely and very efficient with our time.  Thanks for trying so hard to get us at least a glimpse of the Buddha given the weather.
Loved the fishing village we visited.  The markets there were interesting and active. We were happy to get to visit it.
We all raved at the delicious lunch!  The variety, quality and amount served gave all of us  plenty to eat and a wonderful taste of great Asian vegetarian food.
Enjoyed getting to sample various modes of transportation.  A ferry ride was about all we missed.
Your knowledge of the area and sites is outstanding.  I can tell you really enjoy and know your job!  We appreciate your company arranging for us this tour from our port.  It made us all comfortable not having to find a hotel to start a tour.  If we had needed to to meet at a hotel, doubt any of us would have taken the tour.
How can I find you listed on trip advisor?  I would love to post a five-Star recommendation!
Thank you,
B and R

Dear Belinda

Just wanted to let you know that we had a fabulous trip to Japan and most things went without a hitch.

All the guides were excellent but we would especially like to pay tribute to our guide in Tokyo who took us to some of the less touristy parts, including an art studio and was very lovely. We believe her name was Norika. Also in Kyoto we were very well taken care of by our guide and the driver, who were so friendly helpful and very professional.

Thank you once again for organising.

Dear Belinda

Forgive me, please, but I took your advice -- NO RUSH -- very seriously. In any event, even though this reply is so late, I did want you to know that all the arrangements you made, including the day trip to Granada and the Alhambra, worked out beautifully and my trip to Spain was very memorable.

We especially liked the Hotel Claris in Barcelona, where we had a marvelous view from the room of treetops and the street below. As for the coach tour to Granada -- it was all accomplished very efficiently. Before this trip, I had no idea that the Alhambra was such a popular tourist destination, but we were able to see it all and learn much about it despite the crowds. There was even another Hong Konger in our group (though she now lives in Shanghai), so that also made it fun.

Again, forgive me for taking so long to reply, and thanks so much for everything. I hope you are well. I'm sure will be talking in the next few months.

Many thanks again for all of your arrangements.  Everything went smoothly and we had a great trip.  I would highly recommend Peru - food was amazing, cultural sites were interesting, the scenery is spectacular with lots of possible activities, and the Orient-Express properties were excellent.
All the best,

Dear Belinda,                                           (Belinda is Manager Leisure Travel at Concorde Travel)

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your e-mail.

We are sending you our sincerest thanks for arranging one of the best holidays we have ever had. No detail was overlooked, and we are thrilled with all the experiences we had. Our hotels were top notch (especially The Manor in Ngorongoro. Wow!), the internal flights were smooth, and our guides were fantastic! We were very impressed with the agency you used in Tanzania  and will highly recommend them, and you, to all our traveling friends. In fact, several people have already asked us to provide them with the name of your company. We hope you won't mind if we give them your name personally, as you have been wonderful -- so responsive, professional, and efficient.

In short, we are delighted and grateful for your fine services, Belinda. We hope to embark on more big travel adventures in the coming months, and will definitely get in touch with you again when we have chosen our next destination. Perhaps it'll be Machu Picchu next.

Thank you so much for everything. We wish you continued success and much happiness in the New Year.

Warm regards,
N and T G

Dear Fanny,

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the excursion to Macau with Mike Kwan. I found Macau fascinating. Mike was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. He made the trip very interesting and worthwhile. We managed to visit all the sites I wanted to see in the time we were there.
I also appreciated the half-day tour he led in Hong Kong for the Hermes group. I believe that all of us appreciated his kindness, patience and humor.
I will also mention all of this to Alex and Kristina at Hermes.
Thank you so much.
Best regards,
