Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express Bar car

 Train passing Lake Baikal

The world’s greatest railway journey. The Trans-Siberian Railway runs like a steel ribbon connecting east and west from Moscow over the Urals, across the Russian steppes and alongside the shore of the world’s largest freshwater lake, Baikal. We follow the classic route between Moscow and Vladivostok (as it should be done) so by the time your journey ends you will have passed through 8 time zones and travelled over 6,000 miles (10,000kms). If you are going to 'do the Trans-Siberian', do it in style onboard the Golden Eagle.

What's included in these tours?

As far as possible these tours are all inclusive with no hidden extras. From the time that you arrive at the airport (usually), you are met by representatives of the Train and ushered into private transfer vehicles to the hotel or to the train; all meals and wines with dinner are included, as is the service of a very experienced Tour Manager, as well as a medical Doctor who travels with the train each and every tour. This is backed up with luxury accommodation aboard the privately owned train “The Golden Eagle”, with three classes of accommodation offered.

The “heart” of the train, the Bar Car (pictured above) where you meet in the evenings

The only extra items you may need to budget for include personal expenses such as visa costs, insurance, drinks from the bar car, laundry, spa treatments, hairdressing and occasional optional off-train excursions.

The shore excursions use the train staff to assist, but have highly experienced local guides to tell you of the places of interest at each stop along the way. They also use radio headsets to enable you to hear the guide, even if you are up to 30 yards away from the guide whilst he is speaking.

Finally, the destination is one of great interest, with a start or end atMoscow, with its wonderful onion spires and great cultural icons, such asRed Square, and the Kremlin etc. This journey also allows you to experience the true size of the country, covering some six time zones
