CHINA - Biking and Hiking the Great Wall

 

The Wild Wall with Will!                     Seven Days / Six Nights

Departing 22nd October until 28th October 2005.

 

Short Resume :-

The Great Wall of China – Bike it and Hike it!

 

Experience Wilderness Great Wall (Wild Wall) in the most active and atmospheric way, by biking to it, camping on it, and staying in farmhouses close by it.  With an experienced wall researcher and conservationist in tow this tour will prove to offer much more than fabulous scenery!

 

Ø      150 km of good mountain-road cycling and 10 km of dirt-road cycling involving the crossing of 6 high (900-1,300m) passes (Beijing lies between 40 and 80 metres).

Ø      36 km of tough Wild Wall hiking.

Ø      1 night's camping on the Great Wall.

Ø      4 nights' accommodation in traditional yet renovated farmhouses within sight of the Wall.

Ø      1 nights' accommodation in Beijing and tours of the many amazing and historically significant sites of this great city.

 

Tour Grade: Medium to Difficult

Distance: 150-200 km. cycling with 36 km. Hiking

 

NOTE Participants are advised to provide their own sleeping bag ( rated to -20 C ) for this tour, a few are available to rent if required.*

Prices are based per person and as this is adventure holiday tents and hotel / farmhouse rooms may need to be shared.

 

COSTS                                   All in Hong Kong $

HK$13,097 per person based on total group size 5 or more participants.

Or HK$11,000 if you join and leave the tour in Beijing.

 

Price Includes:-

Ø      Round trip Economy Class tickets Hong Kong to Beijing.

Ø      Met at Airport.

Ø      Transfers between airport and hotel.

Ø      Hotel accommodation, as booked, with daily breakfast.

Ø      Use of mountain bike and support services. 21 Speed Diamond Back Response Sport/Apex SE Bikes with ROCKSHOX (available for a test ride in Hong Kong).

Ø      Bottled water when cycling. 

Ø      Accompanied by experienced Tour guide and Historian who specialises in the preservation of the Great Wall.

Ø      Cook who will prepare all the meals.

Ø      Meals as specified, some of these will be camp-fire meals.

Ø      Travel Insurance by Blue Cross. 

Ø      Travel Industry Council Levy.
